Life is about experiencing the thrill of victories and the agony of defeats, which is something Gabe "Fireball" Nelson understood well. A professional baseball pitcher/ coach in Atlanta for twenty-three years, he grew weary of being in the spotlight and facing constant media attention. Gabe retired from baseball and sought a life of anonymity. He wanted to live in an area where he wouldn't be easily recognized, and the little town of Jackson, South Carolina appeared to be the perfect choice.
