One Agreement - No Regrets

Once again alone in the world, Jessina “Jesse” Jo, found herself at a crossroads in life and unsure of what the future held for a no longer whole soldier. Honor bound and with no plans for her immediate future, she embarks on a journey from Southern California to Alaska to deliver the last words of her best friend, sister and fellow soldier. Deciding to embrace the chaos for the first time in her life, Jesse set off without planning for her stay in Alaska, and arrived to find that the brothers she drove thousands of miles to see without calling first were out crabbing for the season, putting Jesse between a rock and a hard place. 

Jamison Smith is a bitter at the world sonuvabitch that had been hurt and abandoned by the women in his life; first his mother then his baby sister. He chose to keep himself from the world, life, and happiness because it was safer for him that way. When a small, mocha skinned woman with a breathtaking smile and warm eyes hobbled into his shop, a part of him that hadn’t given much attention to a woman in years suddenly took note of the tiny inconvenience that walked into his life. 

Fearful of a repeat of the past, and terrified by the uncertainty of what the future held, neither knew what to make of the asinine offer that left Jamison’s lips before he could stop it: Jesse and Klaus, her alcoholic, one-eyed retired service dog, could stay the summer with him at his place since his brother was out for the season, and he asked for nothing in return. The only agreement was no talk of the past and to only live in the moment without regrets. 

An agreement so simplistic was bound to blow up in Jamison’s face, and when it does, history apparently repeats itself, leaving him alone and questioning everything he thought he knew.
