One Little Room

A poignant exploration of memory, history, and identity through the lens of confined spaces.

In One Little Room, Peter McDonald delves into the depths of personal and historical memory, transforming ordinary spaces into gateways of freshly imagined realities. From a Belfast childhood to encounters with historical figures like St.-John Perse, these poems reconstruct public and private histories, offering new perspectives on time and circumstance. The collection engages with themes of loss, love, and transformation, inviting readers to reflect on the interplay between confinement and freedom.

McDonald's eighth collection invites you to witness the transformations of memory and history, loss and love. Perfect for readers of contemporary poetry and those interested in Irish literature.
