Open Endings

The collection opens with "Let Go" a flash fiction story that follows James who is having a difficult time after his sister's death. James visits the art gallery that now holds his deceased sister's painting, only to find out that the curator has sold the painting and the buyer will be coming to pick it up in a week. Will James finally be able to move on?

The next story "The Meeting" follows Mary who wants everything to be perfect, or as perfect as possible in the dirty rundown motel room she has rented. Anxiety fills her while she tidies everything around the room. As time ticks by, she wonders if he's even coming. But who exactly is she waiting for?

The third story "Unexpected" is about Anna who finds herself in a conversation with Ben, her ex-boyfriend's best friend and roommate. Anna must get Ben to keep quiet about the secret he's just found out about. Only he doesn't seem to agree with her.

The final story in the collection is "The Intruder" where Sarah decides to spend some relaxing time alone at home while her family is out at dinner. However, when she begins hearing strange noises, she isn't so relaxed. Watching true crime and horror shows didn't help her nerves. Torn between her curiosity and wanting to get the heck out of the house, Sarah has never been so on edge. That is until she discovers the noise is coming from the basement.
