Captain Blackbraid has lost everything: her fleet, her allies, her reputation, and Pith, whose influence continues to haunt her. Irritated by her feelings, Blackbraid is determined to return to her heartless, murderous ways.

Captain Pith must scheme a way back into Blackbraid's arms, certain of her love for the dangerous pirate. However, when fate reunites them amidst a ship-to-ship aerial battle, their relationship drama is the least of their problems. 

When a saboteur knocks The Ambition out of the sky, they're stranded on an icy island, but their enemies aren't done with them yet. The Carrion Consortium wants their aid or their heads, Blackbraid's ex is still looking for revenge, and unknown assassins attack in the middle of the night. 

Pith has become a target to every major faction in the sky, and it's up to Blackbraid to decide whether or not to keep the loon alive.
