"OVER THERE", With The Australians, by Captain R. Hugh Knyvett
Book written by a Digger who served in the Australian Forces during World War 1.
Well written.
Hard hitting.
Scenes are set so well, you can taste the sand or the mud.
A huge amount of patriotism, especially towards the end of the book, after he was wounded enough to be discharged. (Personally, I think his thoughts should be more wide spread - all our countries would be better off)!
He warned about Germany needing to be beaten properly, otherwise she would do it again. Poetic words - it didn't take many years for that to happen.
Some of his words, 100 years afterwards, may be viewed as racist, but please let them slide for the sake of the rest of the book.
He earnt the right, in blood, sweat and tears, and in years, to write a gripping story in his own words.
Thank you Digger.
