Owner Builder

Owner-Builder is about safely solo-building a large project of custom design on a challenging site with a target cost of $100 per square foot. The focus is on how to safely perform single-handed many of the major and essential tasks that you would ordinarily not be expected to handle alone, without the aid of a crew or specialized equipment. It also explores a spectrum of related issues, from the benefits of employing non-traditional technologies and custom methods to financing and balancing life issues during a protracted home-building commitment. This book supplements but does not duplicate the many “how-to” books available for routine framing, carpentry, systems and finish work.
