Parts North

"Parts North" is the answer to a question.   If you're from certain parts of Maine and a stranger asks where you're from or where you're going, "Parts North" might be the answer you share when you're on the run.  For Quinton Deane, after a misspent life of crime in rural Maine, there's not that many places left to run.  Out of prison, he tends claimers down at the track, but the harness racing circuit is a dead end for Quinton.  Scabs at the paper mill are more in demand than horse trainers, and, just his luck, would mean going back to his old hometown.


Not that there aren't worse drawbacks to the whole thing - going back to Nezinscot would eventually mean having to account to his grown son Newland, who's badly in need of some direction himself, even if it's the wrong direction.  


Set against switchback roads, granite-tough characters, and dead simple needs, Parts North relates the story of a father and son who form a grudging relationship based on the same criminal opportunities that ruined one generation  and threatens another.
