Paths of Glory

Irvin Cobb was an outstanding New York City newspaper journalist and public speaker during the first four decades of the 20th century. His frank and honest descriptions of his experiences at the front during the earliest months of the war in Belgium, coming as they did prior to the later reports of atrocities - politically generated and admittedly exaggerated as a means of turning the attitudes of the British and American public against Germany in a visceral way.
