I cannot recommend this book at all and regret having spent my money on it. Essentially, the author's voice is pompous and seems although he likes to hear himself talk. Great vocabulary, but it sounds more like a book written in the 1800s. Examples are poor, images are small and technique is described in a manner that is useless. Don't purchase this if you are looking for a practical guide to pen and ink drawing. If you like to read someone's endless opinions about styles and simply wish to expand your vocabulary then get it.
