Publisher Description
THE ROARING 20'S AT PENN STATE
When Carl W Christensen, entered Penn State as a freshman in 1921, he was issued a quirky little handbook that contained all the rules and advice for surviving his first year on campus.
It contained all the student yells, songs, customs, interesting facts, schedules, ads, advice, poems and high-minded quotes to live by that any freshman would ever want or need to successfully complete the school year. All was neatly packed into a black faux-leather bound 155 page booklet. It listed train and bus schedules to get to the “college that was inconveniently located for all.”
Carl was always grateful to Penn State for a great education - but he always had lots to say about having to abide by those "dratted freshman rules." I hope you enjoy a peek into the past. 98 pages.
