Picture Day

Do you remember your picture day at school?

I certainly do. This is one of those exciting moments

we share with our classmates, teachers and parents.


Picture Day, by Anna E Shammas, clearly illustrates

this memorable school day. From picking out her

favorite dress in the morning; to proudly displaying

it to Mom and her friends at school; to the moment

when the photographer tells her “smile,” and to

holding and sharing her picture with her parents,

Anna illustrates all these emotions in a pleasant

and fun way for any child to read.


The book’s message, however, is displayed at the end

of the story: Picture Day is all about “remembering

the good times with my friends.” Sometimes I wonder

how often we truly think about this special day this

way. Maybe we did but have forgotten. This book will

bring these memories back and remind us of how

special “picture day” is.
