Plains of Bengal and the Brahmaputra

Publisher Description

Sinopsis
If the Brahmaputra River could be stopped by long, low-altitude dikes that formed a water pond that contained the annual flow of the great river (approximately 300 cubic kilometres), this water could be used during the rainy season. the monsoons
If 10,000 cubic meters per second (300 cubic kilometres per year) could be retained in this pond, an irrigation of one cubic meter per square meter, sufficient for a good complementary harvest, could be given to a formidable land extension: 300,000 square kilometres, 30 million hectares; that is, the whole of the low plains of Bengal, Bihar or Uttar Pradesh.
It is a considerable work - the retention of water and its distribution across the plain. But the results obtained would have exceptional value for the Indian Union and for Bangladesh.
