Playgrounds and Battlegrounds

"It’s healthy to expose oneself to swift shifts of extremes of temperature, take an icy shower after sweltering in a sauna—such fortifies immunity—one should guard against being swindled into placing overmuch faith in civilization-encouraged comfort, calculated to foster laziness of disposition, flagrantly at odds with nature. Taking my cue from such, I believe exposure to swift shifts of emotional extremes is also life-sustaining, bracing and healthy: what applies physically surely applies emotionally—restricting experience to flatness of feeling stifles self-development. Are the streets my playground or battleground? The two are interchangeable, depending on what mood I’m in—where I’ve recently been, what I’ve recently done, am doing now or believe I intend to do."
