He knows every play in the book. But she’s calling the shots.
“An epic story of the one that got away—Maddox will totally surprise readers in a lovely, lovely way.”—Sawyer Bennett
I’m Maddox Ledger, all-star winger and the reason the Charlotte Strikers killed it in the playoffs. Yeah, the tabloids like to call me arrogant. A real hothead. All I see is a guy who plays to win. Wreaking havoc on the ice, breaking a few hearts—that’s all just part of the game. And I’m sure as hell not sitting on the bench.
When my teammate asks me to be in his wedding party, I can’t refuse. Lucky for me, the bridesmaid I’m paired with is the definition of eye candy, but she’s so much more than that. Lacey Easton is totally irresistible and she makes me want to be a better man. A glimpse of bare shoulder takes me back to a steamy, two-week Vegas tryst I can’t forget. One I’m eager to repeat.
Suddenly our one-night stand is turning into the sequel. Still, Lacey’s keeping secrets. She doesn’t trust me. And maybe I deserve it. But I know more than she thinks I do and there’s no chance I’m letting her get away—or letting another guy take what is mine. This time, I’m playing for keeps.

Loved this book
Oh I very much loved this book. I really didn’t like Maddox in this series but I kind of felt bad for him as well. Author LP Dover really brings him in a 180 with this frustratingly sexy story which tells us what happens in Vegas sometimes doesn’t stay there. A marriage in drunken haste that takes a 2 yr hiatus is basically the premise of the story, the in between yrs caused some problems that might not be fixable but their secret still remains. The angst of mistrust & the belief that love still lived was a strong thread through this book. Maddox & Lacey we’re both strong characters which made them both loveable. The fact that the author kept them together & had them strong enough to work out their problems & fears was heartwarming. Definitely recommend. I voluntarily reviewed this book.
3 1/2 Stars
Maddox and Lacey met in Vegas, had a great time together and at the end of the holiday they got married on a whim. The next morning Lacey disappeared because she knew what hockey players were like ... they had a girl in every city and all one-night stands ... because her brother played on the same team as Maddox. Two years later they meet again at her brother's wedding and the sparks are still there. Will Maddox be able to convince Lacey to take a chance on him?
The teaser for this book just confused me ... the book was quite different from it. Maddox was a lot more into wanting a relationship than Lacey was ... he kinda melted my heart with how sweet his was. But I didn't feel sorry for Lacey at all ... make up your mind girl, you want him or not? Was she really that afraid of what her brother would say, that she placed her relationship with Maddox in jeopardy? I found the beginning of the book to have quite a few cheesy lines, but the got much better towards the end. Remember ... this is just my opinion.
