Polar bears, the iconic keynote species of the Arctic, are facing an uncertain future due to climate change and the loss of their sea ice habitat. Arctic ice forms later in the fall and thaws earlier in the spring, shortening the amount of time that polar bears have to hunt and feed on the ice. 


This book includes resources and information on the status of polar bears today, threats to the polar bear, and conservation initiatives to mitigate the effects of climate change. If we all work together, we can make a difference and assure the existence of polar bears for future generations.
