I despair of ever seeing my wish
I learned my lesson with the first books in this series. These are not stories to be read in public. They will rip the still-beating heart from your chest, stomp it into the ground, and laugh in the face of your pain. As each nuance of the Black Empire and the game for control is revealed to us, I despair of ever seeing my wish for Enzo and Kai getting their happy ever after coming true. After everything that happens between these covers and the truths of the final scenes, I don’t know how the author will be able to resolve the impossible. But my heart still wants to see it happen.
