Prepared Parenting

Parenting was so easy before I had kids! I had it all figured out. I knew how I would be, how the kids would be, how my husband would be. I wouldn’t allow certain behaviors, I would just give “the look” and my kids would fall in line. I would not be like the mom at the store with a screaming toddler. Yes, I knew exactly how to parent my imaginary kids. Does this sound familiar? We know that in reality, parenting is challenging and worrisome work. Kids have their own personalities, moods and preferences. Parents have preconceived ideas about what should work. We have to parent our real children, not who they wish we were or who we thought they might be. It took a long time for me to realize that parenting does not follow a certain path every time. Each family, child and situation is different. My hope is that this book will give you some inspiration for finding the best path for your family. I will give you some easy to implement tools to navigate the early years of parenting, create the home environment you crave and raise kids that you want to have over for Sunday dinner when they are grown.
