After Lieutenant Dina Dyer gets trapped in Prideland for the second time, she has no choice but to return to Renfroe's house. He's her only protection from the ruthless cats who want her dead, but things are not as peaceful in Prideland as they seem.

A freak genetic mutation is causing some of Prideland's human helpers to get pregnant from their cat overlords. The Pride starts frantically scrambling to crush the rise of a new hybrid race of Children who will throw the whole society into chaos.

With her Children's lives at stake and no other way out, Dina must battle her way through treacherous territory once again to find the one place where her Children might just have a chance to grow up. But the cats aren't prepared to let their prey escape a second time, especially not with their world on the line and Dina the powder keg that could blow it all to smithereens.
