If you cut off the flower, leaf, branch or stem of a tree, within a particular time frame, the part cut off will regenerate.This is because the root is still under the ground to supply enough materials for the regeneration of any part that has been cut off. If on the other hand you pull out a tree along with the root, the story will be over for that tree.
