Description de l’éditeur
Pursue Me is book one in Josh and Charlie’s duet and book seven in the Hawthorn Hills Duet Series. A two-part, angst-filled, heartbreaking love story. Pursue Me must be read before Protect Me in order to enjoy the full story.
Life at its best is the pursuit.
Josh Cooper is just a fling and she’s determined to keep it that way. She has too much at stake to fall for him.
Charlie McCall is the beautiful blonde he met on his trip to the States and he’s desperate to win her over. But he’s failing miserably.
Unable to stay away from each other, they finally give into the idea of a relationship and of what it could become for both of them.
But the pursuit may be the only thing that’s keeping them together.
The Hawthorn Hills Duet Series follows eight couples. Each two-book duet must be read in order to enjoy the couple’s full story, but the series can be read in any order. You’ll find angst-filled, slow-burn, epic love stories along with topical storylines and some amazingly real and raw characters.

A MUST READ swoony, steamy, angsty, secret filled story!!
The Hawthorn Hills series is by far one of my favourite series and this just increases with each new book.
It is bittersweet with Josh and Charlie's story being the final duet, but book one hit it out of the park. Pursue Me had it all, sweet, funny, steamy, had the angst and mystery all wrapped up in a great package that I just couldn’t put down.
We meet both main characters in the previous duet, Charlie and Mila’s best friend and Josh is Adam’s brother. These two are adorable together, you can see the natural connection they have from the first pages of the book and there is a realness in how their relationship develops.
Charlie is wonderful heroine, she is passionate, strong, talented, knowns what she wants – but at the same time has vulnerabilities that are realistic and has a difficult time allowing people to get close to her, keeping a well guarded secret from her past close to her heart. Although she is being cautious, you can tell her feelings are strong and watching her develop as she navigates this new milestone in her life is beautiful.
Josh, so many good things to say about him! He is sweet, funny, smart and so understanding (I’ll just be over here swooning over my new book boyfriend). You can see how Josh feels about Charlie from the start, he isn’t shy about what he wants-but knows that he must take his time, not push her and show her what a real relationship can truly be. I found him to be such a surprising character (traits I didn’t expect) although I love all the HH heroes, I felt Josh really did shine throughout the book and was very genuine.
The dynamic between Josh and Charlie is so perfect- the development over time is amazing. They really do have an instant connection where you can see a strong friendship, being silly together and a comfort that intensifies as both a physical and emotional connection deepens. They are similar in some ways and compliment each other perfectly in others. It was interesting to see how it will unfold and what will happen next for them.
I loved getting to revisit the characters from the previous books, watching the interactions, the friendship/closeness they all share is so important!
Please note, this book does end in a cliff hanger (as it is book 1 of a duet), but oh what a cliff hanger it is!! The ending had me flying through the pages needing more and more, the suspense and questions left has my dying to read book 2, in true Claire Raye fashion!
I can not wait to see what will happen next for these two characters. I loved it, an absolute must read!
