Readers are left wanting more from Mortimer's (The Alpha Series) brief, fast-paced- yet sexy-romance. Russian billionaire Mikhail Lysenko is used to getting his way, and he has every intent of keeping his record, despite Attorney Lindsay Carlisle's objections. He's wanted her since he first laid eyes on her, and he'll let nothing stop him from making her his. After getting rid of her cheating boyfriend, the last thing Lindsay wants is to get involved with another man, especially one as powerful as Mikhail, whose had more women than he can probably remember. The fact that he's in business negotiations with one of her clients also makes him off limits. When someone starts leaving black roses outside of Lindsay's apartment door, not understanding if it's admiration or something sinister, Mikhail steps in to protect her, leaving her defenseless against his charms. The relationship is built on nothing more than sex, but the story wraps up nicely.

Pursued by the Devil
Carole Mortimer has always been one of my favorite romance authors. I enjoyed this book - steamy love scenes, with romance, mystery and intrigue thrown in. This one doesn't quite fit in with the rest of the International Bad Boys series - I found it to be more in the style of the romance novels I read when I was younger - powerful businessman takes what he wants (Lindsey); somewhat weak-willed heroine can't resist and gives in - it didn't jive with my expectation of the book based on the other books in the series. Still definitely worth a read - Mortimer doesn't fail to produce a great romance novel.
