Excellent
I really enjoyed this book that was about a biomedical engineering researcher turned politician changing the paradigm shift of societal norms and law for allowing young pregnant girls to go to school in Sierra Leone. There was a ban before that prevented them from attending to get an education pushing them to remain in a state of poverty. David faught the system to bring about change by listening first to the people concerned with the exclusion, using media channels, champions in society already bringing change and supporting the cause and having courage to speak up. I learned so much about activism and steps to bring changes not only in society at large, but at home as well as in the workplace. Sometimes we are so focused outward that we forget that change happens in Microsystems closest to home first. I like this book and discovering about David who is multifaceted with different contributions in Sierra Leone. I feel inspired with this book to keep pressing on with my projects.
