Whether face to face or virtual, conversations in the classroom truly matter. If we are what we say, what do our interactions in the digital space say about us as learning leaders? The way we wield words is constantly opening and closing possibilities around us. When a door shuts, we have this sense that the encounter had led almost inevitably to that moment— but every remote conversation is multiple possible conversations. The trouble is, too often when face to face training is converted to virtual, something crucial is lost. Good remote training ≠ one-directional talking slides, with learners half asleep and drifting to other tasks. When done well, attention is baked in and engagement remains high, ensuring learning and follow-through.
