Rake the Embers

Abandoned as a baby, Megan’s story unfolds from 1912 through to the 1960s. It is a story told with compassion and empathy.

After being cared for by kindly strangers, circumstances cause Megan to be sent to an orphanage, leading eventually to adoption and a terrible experience which affects her future life.

At sixteen Megan meets Yvonne and is befriended by her family, and through them she is introduced to Keith, a young merchant seaman. However, Keith has an older brother, Evan, and his dark character is to cast a shadow across Megan’s life once again.

Through dangers and difficulties, tears and joy, Megan finally finds peace and unexpected happiness when she settles in the rugged and beautiful surroundings of Cornwall, where her life culminates in the glow of achievement and abiding love.
