The term "raptors" does not define solely birds of prey. This word can also refer to Dromaeosauridae. This is the feathered theropod dinosaur family. Such beings have lived during the Cretaceous and they proved to be highly successful carnivores of small to medium size.
Fossils of such dinosaurs have been found all over the globe. Therefore, raptors have existed for over one hundred million years until their extinction during the Cretaceous – Paleogene. Still, their legacy has not died with them. Researchers have revived the story of these raptors, telling their tale for many generations to come and new pieces of the puzzle are discovered each day.
