In this world, magic doesn't last forever.

Irulen is a young mage who solves mysteries for a price. He’s called to a sleepy, snow-capped village in the north to investigate a string of ritualistic murders where he meets Farah. Farah’s friend is already dead, and signs point that she may be the next victim. Irulen races against time to find a sadistic killer.

But is this an isolated mystery, or just the beginning of something larger? Irulen’s past is back to haunt him, and serves to threaten Farah’s future. Is their meeting a call to destiny? Or are they a small part in a larger design of something diabolical?
