Real Footwear Trends
Three paths for the future of the European footwear industry
Publisher Description
Footwear manufacturing is an important economic activity in Europe, with thousands of Small and Medium sized companies active in the fashion industry. More than 2 million workers have directly or indirectly an income through this sector.
The European Confederation of the Footwear Industry has conceived the CEC-Made-Shoe Project in order boost the evolution of European footwear SMEs from “style and manufacture” towards “knowledge, market service, quick response and product added value“ as necessary complements to style and manufacturing capabilities.
This book explores the Style and Social Trends in Consumption and Fashion which can lead to this change in the mindset of the footwear industry.
This research was made by Future Concept Lab, which joined 54 partners working together during 4 years on this project. These 3 concepts are the ones able to define results that can be taken up by the industry at present and in the future.
