You Won't Want To Put It Down
I received an ARC of this book to read through Edelweiss+ in exchange for a fair review. Recipe for Persuasion by Sonali Dev is the second book in her Austen themed series The Rajes. This book is the story of chef Ashna Raje who desperate to find a way to save her deceased father’s struggling restaurant signs on to a reality television cooking show where working chefs are paired with celebrities competing for a prize of one hundred thousand dollars. Now, if only she can make it through without having one the panic attacks that knock her off her feet whenever she tries to cook something that isn’t her father’s recipe. Frederico (Rico) Silva, world-famous newly retired soccer star, is looking for closure. When Rico googles Ashna’s name, he sees that she’s going to be on Cooking with the Stars and he asks his agent to get him on the show and partnered with Ashna because he feels that he’s never going to be able to move on with his life until he deals with his unresolved feelings for Ashna his high school girlfriend whom he thinks dumped him because he wasn’t good enough for her. Both Ashna and Rico had horrendous childhoods and watching them work through the trauma of their pasts to find their way back to each other will have you on a rollercoaster of all the emotions. I could not put this book down, nothing got done that day and I didn’t go to bed until I’d read the last word. Medium Steam.
