Generations have passed since humankind fell by their own hand.

Survivors remain in the New World, in human settlements, but are subject to attack by malevolent forces, hungry for resources both organic and technological in nature.

Petra isn't fully human. Like other nanotech cadets at the Academy, she was created to defend the human settlements of the Federation from its enemies. Enemies like the Opposition, whose brutal Ravagers have been weaponized into tireless killing machines.

Petra comes into contact with members of the Opposition on the battlefield, and is startled by her discovery.
