Vovie's off to Rio and Ellen's off to . . .? That's what Detective Mike Pierce and everyone else in Ellen's universe wants to know in the third installment of this contemporary romantic suspense thriller. Ellen was last scene jogging into mayhem late at night, the mayhem being a street protest where she gave Oscar her bodyguard the slip. Days pass with no word from her as Mike and his partner Chan follow up leads, track down other criminals and Mike's past catches up with him. Even if Ellen comes back, he is worthy of her?

Wherever she is, she's out of reach of the wisdom in Aunt Vovie's diary, who by the way, has her own mystery man on her hands. Rather, the mystery is, what happened to man?  She catches of glimpse of the tantalizing Tomas, presumed lost overboard during the hurricane, but she spots him standing on the dock as she heads for Rio. But not to worry, Vovie always finds a man to comfort her, whether it's a dashing gaucho or the mesmerizing captain of the ship.

Is she headed for troubled waters again as she copes with her devilish new roommate and conflicted heart?
