This story has humor, intrigue, action, and plenty of steam
I read the original of this story when it first came out and I loved it then. Now that I’ve read the new version, I think I might love it even more. This story has humor, intrigue, action, and plenty of steam. Jessica is working hard to make the best of a rough start in life, and it’s about to get rougher. Rocco is the kind of military hero I love to read: caring, protective, and alpha without being an alpha-hole. This pair made me cackle in unmitigated glee as they sparred their way to togetherness in a not quite but almost ‘enemies to lovers’ kind of way. I loved Jessica’s independence and resilience and I loved the way Rocco looks out for and looks after her. I kind of hate that the book’s over already.
