Fast forward to present day wherein Chase, now the town’s new veterinarian, has returned home, and is hoping for a second chance with the woman he still loves but Sophie Daniels struggles with memories of the past, and continues to blame our hero for what happened years before. An injured puppy will bring our couple together but issues of trust and the battle to forgive will find Sophie and Chase at odds, once again. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Sophie and Chase, and the potential fall-out as a favor for a friend places our couple in a position that threatens their continuing issues of trust.

The relationship between Sophie and Chase is one of second chances. Former high school sweethearts torn apart by the immaturity of love, and Sophie’s inability to move on from the past. Chase was not to blame for the accident suffered by our story line hero but Sophie’s need to blame someone made Chase the perfect target for her misplaced anger and shame. There are no $ex scenes; the kissing is chaste; the romance is implied.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to Chase’s sister-in-law Trisha, and her son Petey, both of whom are struggling in the wake of Chase’s brother’s white collar crimes; Chase’s new clinic assistant Nadine, and Comet, who is the perfect foil for a rekindling romance.

REUNITED ON DRAGONFLY LANE is a story of family and friendships, second chances and love. The premise is sweet and heart warming; the romance is chaste; the characters are animated and flirty.

With only three days notice, events planner Claire Donovan has been tasked with pulling together the wedding of Bo Matthew’s father Pearson Matthews to his much younger bride Rebecca Long but Rebecca is struggling in the final weeks of her pregnancy and Pearson has sent his son Bo to help Claire with the wedding arrangements. Months earlier, Claire and Bo spent an evening together but in the aftermath Bo left town without looking back. Fast forward to present day wherein Claire continues to struggle with the rejection of the man with whom she would fall in love.

A WEDDING ON LAVENDER HILL is a story of second chances, of a sorts. There had been no official relationship development, only a few hours spent in one another’s company following the wedding of Bo’s ex to his best friend, but our heroine took Bo’s disappearance personally, and struggles to forgive and forget.

As always author Annie Rains tells a beautiful, heartfelt story. This one is no different but I felt a lot more in this one. The young love pushed to the limits by tragedy being recaptured by two people who definitely belong together was beautiful & heartbreaking. The tragedy of Sophie’s climbing accident caused years of pain for both she & Chase, physically & emotionally as she pushed him away & blamed him. As we learn through growth not everything is as it seemed & now that Chase has moved home things are about to change. Chase had is own heartbreak to deal with as well as he tried to help his ex sister-in-law & nephew after his brother went to prison. I loved how a young puppy was the catalyst that brought them together & how Chase’s courage & love for Sophie kept him coming back. This story had so many feelings in it & the antics of Comet brought in a wonderful amount of humour as well. Definitely recommend to read.
