Revealing Content

An artist's visual language stems from his intended content. In rendering (where the content is appearance) language is used differently than when creating expressive work where the content goes beyond appearance to emotions, concepts or ideas. Understanding this shift in language is essential to creating effective expressive work. The Artist's understanding of this rests on his ability to go within where expressive content lives. Here, face to face with his intention, he creates his own visual language. This inward journey is facilitated by accessing certain states of being. This book concerns itself with the nature of that interior journey, the states of being that support revelation of content and the expressive use of visual language.
