So good- want more Coleman's now please!

One of the things that through me when the series started was the stories other than the main characters EXCEPT for Travis. Travis was front and centre from the beginning and I couldn't wait to see and here more from him. When he finally got his book, because Gabe and Joel jumped out in front of him, the anticipation was high. What the heck was going on with Travis? We had so many different glimpses and innuendos and you wanted to know the whole story. Trouble was, I knew I need a long stretch to read it, because it was not being put away until I was done, and that is what happened!

We start with what went on between Travis and Cassidy that we didn't see in Gabe's book, you had the hint, but it was nice to have the facts. Then we have Ashley returning and find out she left because she wanted him to stop fighting, one of the same reasons Cassidy was freaked.

Travis can't promise, so he and Ashley work on her artist project, until Travis agrees to fill in for his cousin Karen on her trail ride. Away in the bush, no fighting available, so he and Ashley get back together. When they arrive, Cassidy is there. The sparks are still there for Travis, and for Ashley as well. Ashley picks up on the vibes between Travis and Cassidy and Travis confesses to her. Travis also explains his need for pain, and Ashley gets him to let her know when it strikes and maybe Cassidy can help him out. When it does happen, Ashley has her time for confessions.

We have some ups and downs and overs and about, but we end up with the three of them in a relationship together in all its' variations. Away in the bush it works, but Cassidy is hesitant to take it out in the open. Cassidy's time for confession and it cements them either more together.

Finally they are all three back in Rocky House, and if Travis thought his family would be shocked, he finds the whole thing quite anti-climatic. Seems everyone knew he liked men and women, and Daniel had the best, know that Travis has a boyfriend, he can get twice the help from him moving large objects now!

There is some blow-back from the town, and also some support that came from unlikely sources. Some series of misunderstandings and a few run-ins, but the Coleman's stand strong, even when Ashley ends up hurt in the process. Mike and Marion come through, as always, for their boys, and Ashley and Cassidy finally get their home with Travis, and Travis finally gets everything he ever wanted!

Very moving, open and honest portrayal of the turmoil, emotions and real reactions to the situation. The book isn't overly emotional, and each character gets their own time in the spotlight, and all relationships get their own time. It isn't overly sweet, but it is very powerful, and you are rooting for these guys to have their time and happiness all the way through!

I got hooked on this series from the first one. Rocky Mountain freedom explores the difficulties and joy in any relationship, in this instance more complex as the relationship is a triad. Well written, emotional and sexy! This is one of my favourite of the series....hello sexy cowboys.
