A Pig in A Tub
An enjoyable story. The use of a strong vocabulary will engage children in the story. When read aloud to a child or group of children, the vocabulary will allow the listener to make sound effects which go with the vocabulary.
The pacing of the story is good and allows for prediction by the young reader. The use of occasional rhyme is interesting.
Illustrations are simple and work to enhance the story for the reader. We would recommend this book for the 4 to 7 age group.
This could also be used to develop writing skills encouraging children to write about what they would find in a junk pile and what they could do with the junk. There is a possible tie in to the story "Jennifer's Junkpile".
One of our favs!
My three year old loves this story, and it has become one of our first "go to" activities when my son gets his hands on my iPhone!
A Pig In A Tub
Loved the illustrations and so did my kids! The story was great and I used the comprehension questions at the end with my oldest. The youngest adored the illustrations. Based on this book alone, I'd purchase other books by this author!
