Don't miss the second book in New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter's captivating and unforgettable Immortal Enemies series…
Forbidden. Powerful. Ruthless.
Micah the Unwilling, fae King of the Forgotten, can tame even the most violent of beasts. Forged on the battlefield, this iron-willed warrior considers his soldiers his family, and he will stop at nothing to reclaim their dispossessed land. Gearing for war with a sadistic enemy, he is disciplined and focused—until a feral beauty he encountered long ago wanders into his camp.
Viori de Aoibheall wields a terrifying ability to sing monsters to life. Having spent her childhood in a forest, raising herself and her frightening creations—the only friends she’s ever known—she’s ill prepared for the scarred royal and his fearsome brutality. Not to mention the ferocity of their connection and the carnality of his touch. But the real problem? Her brother is Micah’s greatest foe. And though the sensual king makes her burn, she must stop him, whatever the cost.

Must-read!
Omg! That's pretty much the theme throughout this book. seriously, I read it in one day.
This book was riveting, emotionally charged, romantic, sensual and definitely a must-read!
Micah has easily made his way into becoming one of my all-time favourite male leads - he's brutal, unwilling, and ruthless but he's smart, loyal and kind as well. After the events he's had to face in his past and present, the betrayals and heartbreak, I wouldn't blame him if he became cruel; but he learns from his mistakes and he fights for those under his care no matter the cost! *cue heart eyes*
Viori is a badass herself; I'm so happy to see another strong female lead that doesn't need a man to protect her. She has her glamara yes, but she's also extremely fierce in her fighting... and don't get her started when she lets the rage out! She has gone through too much in her life but not once has she ever given up.
The way Gena writes about their connection and desperation for each other is phenomenal. You can feel how much these two burn for each other.
I absolutely loved the glimpses we received of other characters, and the little surprise near the end was a verrrryy nice touch ;)
I can't wait to see who's next in this series!
