Saagóot ḵa Shaadá Shkalneeg‪í‬

The first in a series of children’s books in Tlingit, the Saagóot ḵa Shaadá series offers short stories about two main characters—young Tlingit siblings Saagóot and Shaadá—as well as their cat Shooná and dog Kootʼáaxʼaa. This series is presented entirely in Tlingit, and translations are not present in the text because it is designed for a language immersion setting. These stories are a collaboration of fluent Tlingit elders and language teachers, and is inspired by the works of other language programs who are producing materials entirely in their own language.
