PART ONE: THE COGNITIVE REVOLUTION
The first part of the book, Harari introduced the term “Homo sapiens”, which is a Latin word for humans because humans are animas from the genus, or a family known as Homo. The author explains that humans are evolved from a great ape family. In the book it states that, 6 million years ago, a single female ape gave birth to two children, one became a chimpanzee and the other one a human. As they spread in wide variety places such as; East Africa, North Africa, Europe and Asia. Their characteristics and abilities have also evolved too. What modern and prehistoric humans share:
(1) large brains
(2) ability to walk upright
(3) use of tools
(4) superior learning abilities
(5) complex social structures.
Approximately 150,000 years ago, Homo sapiens began to alter its physical appearance too. They had smaller teeth and larger jaws than their human relatives. Humans also have huge brains for their body size. It is exactly what we looked like today. There are two theories as to why the other humans became extinct.
