We’ve designed this digital book with you in mind, wishing to give you a brief introduction to a small piece of the history of Barbados, featuring the Savannah Beach Hotel’s place in Barbadian history. Great care has been taken to restore the hotel to its former glory whilst instilling the spirt of its past.
With history as our focus, we feature two pieces: one more recent, a news article in the 1980s reflecting on the hotel’s past; and one a bit further back, by sharing two hundred year old history of an early slave turned hotelier. In doing so, this book shares various quoted sources who enlighten us with their words of wisdom.
Barbados welcomes its visitors, new and old, with open arms. Barbados is its people, a mixture of locals, expatriates, visitors young and old, and you will find it such a friendly place.
