Saving Chase

Passionately in love with his fiancée, memories of Kate Knox are the only thing that get Army Ranger Chase McCloud through months of captivity & torture by the Taliban. Wounded and barely alive, he is rescued and brought home, where he learns that Kate has disappeared. Barely recovered from his wounds, he begins a search for her that eventually convinces him that she’s dead.

Overwhelmed by grief, Chase shuts himself off from everyone, losing himself in an alcohol-induced fog. Resisting help from his Lakota relatives, they nevertheless try to break through the walls he’s built around himself. When Chase doesn’t respond, they use mystical native ways to heal him and he receives a vision that Kate is still alive.

Kate’s privileged and peaceful existence is shattered when she unknowingly becomes the center of a master plan that includes murder, greed and dirty politics. Pregnant with Chase’s baby, Kate is forced to flee for her life and vanishes deep into the country of southwest Colorado. There, she meets Deputy Gabe Esposito, who takes her under his wing and befriends her, protects her and falls in love with her. He becomes a father figure to the baby that is Chase’s son.

Even though Kate has deep feelings for Gabe, Chase still holds her heart. She is not prepared to say yes to Gabe’s marriage proposal and isn’t sure she can ever file Chase away as “over with and forgotten”.

Fate finally brings Chase to her, but he’s being shadowed, and the nightmare that Kate escaped quickly finds her again. To stay together, they must confront the forces that tore them apart.
