Mary married niggly Nigel on the rebound – and regretted it from the moment she said, 'I do.'

In a last-ditch attempt to resurrect their passion-free marriage, they head to Venice. But when Nigel books the cheapest hotel, unpacks his paisley-pattern pyjamas and spends his days doing a running cost analysis of gondolas and gelato, Mary doubts things will improve.
