Jane had it all: a career as an archaeologist, a good marriage to a reliable, loving man, few but good friends, some financial cushion for when the time may get hard, in short, a predictable, satisfying life. But one early morning, she lost everything.  A car accident left  her contemplating life in a whellchair.  With no hope or purpose for the future and stripped of all the things in her life that made sense, Jane is pushed to try a new therapy.

When her best friend Isabelle connects her with the best doctor in the city, Jane starts believing in the miracles she'd heard this young and famous doctor can do. Except that he seems to have taken an unprofessional interest in her, a married woman ten years his senior. Caught between hopes of recovery and the need to protect a crumbling life, Jane wishes she could forget the past and hide from the future.
