ABOUT THE BOOK:

If I don't open every door to see what lies within,

I'll miss an opportunity that might not come again.

I stay busy day and night, through winter, fall, and spring.

I crush my fear of missing out by doing EVERYTHING.

Seraphina wants to do it all.

And she does! From soccer to ballet to French club, her schedule is jam-packed. There are so many options and doors to walk through in life, and Seraphina doesn't want to miss a thing!

So, if Seraphina is doing all the things she wants to do, why does she feel so blue? With help from her dad, Seraphina discovers that in trying to do everything, she is missing out on her favorite things.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOK:

I think that Seraphina Does Everything is as much for parents as it is for children. How often do we struggle with the decisions of what activities our children participate in, and then give in because they want to 'do everything', and we don't want to stand in the way of their experiences and desires? My children are grown, now, with children of their own, and I can see them struggling with the same decisions. This book helps us, as the adults, gain better insight into the impact those decisions have on the child, even if the child can't verbalize their emotions as beautifully as does Seraphina.

I've already bought copies for my grandchildren, and am now ordering copies for the grandchildren of my closest friends. I also plan to donate one to my local library so others will also benefit from this beautiful work. (And I just 'may' end up keeping one for myself, for my inner child that STILL wants to do everything!)

Thank you, Melissa Gratias, for sending Seraphina out into the world!

Seraphina is a delightful book, beautifully illustrated, offering a meaningful message to people of all ages. It is an excellent teaching tool for parents, educators and school counselors in efforts to reduce stress, anxiety and depression in young children caused by overloading their young, formative lives. I consider this to be a perfect book for showing young kids the way to a more enjoyable life, and learn to live in the moment.
