The paths we all take, and which define our identities, are not always lined with gold. Knowing who we are, and not forgetting that, is what makes us stronger and better people.


I am Sergio Kun Aguero.


I was born to play football.


There is nothing more beautiful.


My love for the game has been allowed to run free thanks to the sacrifice of my parents, and the guidance and support of so many good people.


It was my destiny to play for my boyhood team, Independiente, at the Estadio Libertadores. To represent my country, Argentina, at the highest level. To win the Europa League and Super Cup with Atlético Madrid. 

And to become part of Manchester City’s great history. 


When I think of my league title-clinching goal against QPR I don’t just see myself. I see the faces of my team-mates and the City fans. I see true passion and an emotion that reflects something that I learned when I was little. Something we share at City. That giving all you have and fighting to the very end will always have its reward.


But to get there, every story needs a beginning.


My personal journey has been shaped by so many connected events. 


Nothing has happened by chance.
