Not long after Andy Gage was born, his stepfather subjected him to a level of torture and abuse that killing his soul—which broke in pieces. Those pieces then became souls in their own right, co-inheritors of Andy's life.


Now, and Andy navigates the outside world, more than a hundred other souls share an imaginary house inside his head. There's Aaron, the father figure; Adam, the mischievous teenager; Jake, the frightened little boy; Aunt Sam, the artist; Seferis, the defender; and Gideon, who wants to get rid of Andy and the others and run things on his own.
