Sharks

There are more than 400 different kinds of sharks. Sharks live in all of the Earth’s oceans.

• The hammerhead’s wide-set eyes let it see better.

• Sharks are older than dinosaurs. Sharks appeared almost 200 million years before dinosaurs.

• The largest shark is the wale shark. It is almost as long as a school bus!

• Sharks’ sense of smell is so good they can smell a tiny amount of blood in a huge area.
