Sister Suffragists

Inspired by her great-great Grandfather's vote to pass the Utah woman suffrage act of 1870, published author Susan N. Swann found herself enchanted by the history of the courageous women of Utah who won the vote and lost it seventeen years later, throwing them into a new battle for their rights.

Swann penned the historical fiction novel Sister Suffragists to tell a story of triumph and courage. She includes well known women of Utah, as well as historical figures such as Susan B Anthony in her story, along with fictional characters Katie and Emma who grow up in the small town of Farmington, Utah. They expand their domain as women when Katie attends medical school and Emma becomes a Pinkerton Detective. Through the tragedies and triumphs of family life and children, their bond remains strong as they fight alongside their sisters suffragists in both the East and the West to reclaim their right to the vote.
