Six 30-Minute Plays, 2007-2009

This compilation of 30-minute plays brings together the creative output of the first three cohorts of Theatre Studies and Drama students at Raffles Institution (Junior College). The pioneers of the 2007 batch bring us two flights of fancy. In Toys R Us, Amy's toys can't agree on whether to worship or defy their unseen owner. And in Behind the Curtain, the yellow brick road is full of potholes, and the Wizard is very far from wonderful. 2008 gives us Chai or Char, in which Mama Pacha, Incan goddess of the Earth and Life appears in a Singapore kitchen and tries to solve the problem of race. And also Art Is, in which a painter, tired of producing expensive wallpaper, decides to create true art. And in 2009, everything breaks down. In Stuck in the Middle, the past crashes into the present and leaves the future in doubt; while in The End, three very different people must confront their destructive obsessions or face the end of all things.
