Sixteen Thorns

When Megan Cameron, freelance journalist, suspects her hotel partner and beloved godmother, Amelia, of having unintentionally stolen the legendary Rock of Ages, an invaluable Celto-Christian treasure, she dismisses the possibility as ludicrous.

Their innocent calm on the Scottish island of Arran is disturbed by the arrival of three men. Francois Armand, gourmet chef and charmer, seems to save the day as far as the chaos in “The Monk’s Hood” hotel kitchen is concerned. Before long Megan has to agree with her godmother that Francois is a treasure. Until the arrival of Charlotte, a punk seasonal worker, who sends the chef into a tailspin. The second man is Gordon Aird, a retired schoolteacher and whiz with computers. The third is the handsome, mysterious, Ben Scofield.

As events unfold, Megan is convinced that one of these men is responsible for switching the real Rock of Ages with the replica bought by Amelia. When the evidence points to Ben, Megan discovers she is hopelessly and dangerously in love with him.
